Day 23

elenikonst

We are starting to notice more the effect of our thoughts in our bodies, but not often consider the opposite. If you use a thought that helps you release tension, do you notice any effect on your state of mind? As always, this is an exploration/play, so it's absolutely fine if the answer is "no". If we start observing really closely and meticulously, it might cause more tension than benefit. You can keep this thought in mind for the next time you release a lot of muscle tension at once.

📖 Personal notes: I don't have a lot of notes for this thought, apart from the fact that I started Alexander lessons to help with my piano technique, and it helped me become an overall happier and more resilient person. We all experience the world through our minds/bodies. We can't alter the one without altering the other.

10 minutes of mindful movement a day 🍂

For the month of October I will be posting a different thought/theme each day to bring some Alexander inspired mindfulness into daily activities.

To follow along, simply

🚴 Choose an activity. It can be the same one or different each day

(the more inconsequential and boring the better)

🔍 Use the activity as an opportunity to explore the theme

📖 Take note of anything interesting (I will be sharing some of my own notes/observations as I follow the themes too)

If you have any questions, thoughts, observations, disbeliefs, challenges, I would genuinely love to discuss it, so feel free to reach out.

Disclaimers:

1. These are some thoughts I have found helpful during my Alexander journey. They are definitely not all the technique is or has to offer.

2. ⚠ Health and Safety ⚠

Don't choose an activity that requires you to handle a vehicle or sharp object, or can put you or others in danger.
